Seminar reflection

I really enjoy discussion , particularly about a interesting topic.
Last week i was looking forward to attending in the seminar ,so during the weekend i was working hard for seminar preparation.I find some interesting finding on the Internet you can see those in the previews task which is in the bottom.
Despite being a talkative person ,i tyred to listen to other students, thus i was a good listener during the seminar and i spoke good enough.
Although some students were speaking unclear with a strong accent, i could understand them. But to be honest i did not practice the language of speaking very much ,so i could have done better.
Although some students were trying to be dominated ,I believe that i was successful to direct the discussion and help keep the discussion moving in the right direction because everybody participated and at the end they were satisfied.
I have to practiced the language for next seminar and i hope to do much better.

Seminar research

For seminar preparation this weekend i searched on the Internet for find further information sources about ''television influence on children , how television viewing affects people and the future for television.''
I find many interesting result.
In the following i am going to write a summary of those finding and the links of the websites which i think might be useful for other students.
-A research mentioned that nearly 70% of children aged 8-15 years are watching TV 14 hoers
per week.
-nowadays four out of five children aged 5 till 16 have a TV set in their bedroom.
-children are watching average of 3 until 5 hours television per day.
-studies show that too much television viewing can have adverse affects.such as more violent and aggressive behavior, poor school performance ,early sexual activity, and drudge or alcohol use.
However, children are not engage in the activities ,they need to help them develop their bodies and brains when they watch television.Young children need to ''explore ,move manipulate, smell touch and repeat as they learn.
For older children is it important to play ,read ,do home work ,and talk with other children and adults for healthy development, according to the Department of Education, mention the link address in the following.

-obesity problem: Watching television consumes only a few more calories than sleeping. Children who watch television instead of physical activity are getting fat.

-Between 2008 and 2012, the analogue TV signal will be switched off in the UK, meaning the country will have to be 100% digital.
Digital TV can be sent through an aerial, satellite, cable or phone line, and to watch it you need a set-top box or a built-in decoder in your TV set.
TV could be use on the mobile phone and other gadgets.High definition television, or HDTV, is a new format for watching programmes, offering sharper, clearer and brighter pictures and better sound.More realistic and educational purpose also variety products will be extended on the television.
To sum up in my view i think the media and particularly television and Internet will use for education purpose than entertainment.furthermore, censorship and media tycoon would not exist any more so we will live in the world village.

Television

Today Helen asked the students to write about the Television in their country.
As you may know my country has a specifice situation .We do not have any independent television or channels broadcasting from the country. But there are many independent channels or televisions which are broadcasting from abroad, mostly from the U.S.A .
Our country is a huge country , about twenty five states. We have nearly eight channels which are broadcasting for whole the country and each state has a local channel broadcasting for the local people with their languages and their accents. They are supported and dominated by government. Also there are five channel on the satellite broadcasting for abroad and supported by government too.
Religion is very strong in the country and politic is based on the religion's views ,so censorship is very common for the TV products even newspapers and the Internet. Most of the TV and radio products are effected by current affairs .Many of the independent newspapers have been suppressed and many journalists have been jailed.
Interestingly, the cinema and film production is very successful even they are very limited.
In conclusion we have a good potential in cinema and television's industry and our people like watching television thus we can find out why there are many Farsi language televisions broadcasting from the U.S.A .I believe that in the future technology would not let anybody to do censorship.

second terms

I think this term is more difficult than first term ,however ,during this term we are learning seminars and lectures skills and my listening and speaking are much better than reading and writing which would help me to achieve those skills ,but in last two days i analyse that my vocabulary is very limited .So i decided to focus on the specific language and vocabulary for seminars and lecturers and general speaking as well.To be honest i am quite nervous because when i am thinking about vocabulary or grammar in the same time, i can not speak frequently and i mad silly mistakes.
I strongly believe that practicing is the best way for improve and develop my language and vocabulary but i have to say that i am really a impatient person although i can see my progress in short time.
To sum up , as i mention i have been studying in the college for about one year i have never seen such this system useful for learning English so i will perfectly do every assignments during this term because i absolutely believe that it would be very useful .

This task(Academic vocabulary gap maker) is so useful .I recommend the students to use this site after reading an academic article.
Today i searched two articles about my course modules 'topics in Computer Networking'.After a quick read i copied the text into this sit and then, it took the academic vocabularies.Although, i could gusset some of their meanings,i searched those in the dictionary just for learning more and make sure.I am going to write some of them with their meanings:

task 10

Last week we learnt the phonemic chart of English sounds. To be honest i did not learn this part of English before. Thus i got idea to learn this part.My pronunciation is not very bad but i can not recognise the spelling and the stress of the word.Spelling is the one of my biggest problems.I think if we know the stress of the word we will be able to write the word with out any spelling's mistakes. So in this exercise i have done the Word Stress task on the Word Stress Weblearn . Unfortunately just one- thirds of my answers to the questions were correct. So far i was looking through dictionary just for finding the meaning of new world but I have decided to look at the dictionary for stress and spelling as well.Furthermore i am getting use to pronounce the world correctly and in better accent.I recommend the students to use book's dictionary instead of using digital dictionary to achieve this reason.I can see my progress in the short time and i want to keep finding the stress for any word which i am using regularly.

task 4

I knew about my subject generally also i searched about the modules and few specific details on the Internet .The course which i am going to study next year is Computer Networking. The course is divided into three stages:
First stage is include three core modules (Broad band networks,Routing and switching device ,Advance communication system ).
Second stage is include two compulsory core modules(Research method and project proportion,Advance routing and switching).Third stage is optional modules(Network security,Mobile and digital Brod casting,Topic in computer network Analysis and simulation) .
I tried to search some articles about those subjects on the Internet generally.I found two books regarding Networks security and Brod band Networks in the library and i red the contents and introductions. Thus i will write a very Small summaries of those.

BROADBAND NETWORKS:This module addresses modern techniques in communication industry. The topics spans across methods for data transmission in the global communications, types of networks and current protocols determining new standards for the industry. New and emerging broadband technologies will also be discussed.
Network Security:The goal of that book is to educate the students about the overall security process based on a security policy design and management emphasis is placed on security technologies ,products, and solution.
Unfortunately i have not tried to make an appointment to meet my course leader. But i am going to do it next weak.I am sure it would help me to find out more about it.

task 3

I was confused in using (s and , and ' ) in singular/plural , present simples' third person or possessive. So i mad mistakes grammatically. Some times i forgot to add 's' after the third person verbs. For example i did not know we have to add a 's' after verb which is coming in present simple tense: Everybody ,Anybody,Anyone ,Everyone.Recently,i decided to improve those parts of grammar. Thus i got a grammar book with a DVD and few advice from my friends and teacher .I practiced them and i think now i am able to use them correctly. In the following i will give several example and explanations.
-Everybody/Everyone..+ is/has: if we use present simple tens ,we must add 's' after verb which is coming in the following.
-Some times for a group of people we are using a singular adjective: the young the old the poor.
Some times we use 'a/an' as a singular before a group which we think it might be plural: a family is/has.... .
-If a plural noun is coming after an adjective we must use plural adjective: teenagers men/women.
-Another always is +singular . Ex: Can i have another biscuit?
-Other +plural . Ex: where are the other students?
I recommend the students to review these parts of grammar again because i can see every day that the students are using these incorrectly as well.
