I never thought that learning a foreigner language could be so difficult as i can see.I have been learning English for about one year and five months in London ,even a English language country. But to be honest when i came hear i did not know English at all.So i am really satisfied because i think that i am in a correct way for achieving to my willing.
Two months a go when i wanted to analyse my English language i was nerves and worried for writing in my self study blog or research because my writing was very poor .But now i can see my improvement in writing , However, i still having problems with reading particularly scan reading. Thus i am going to focus on it during this month.
For improving the Writing i have been written a shit or page every day about my assignment or some interesting topics ,which i read, since two months a go.At the beginning it was very difficult and it took me long time for looking through the dictionary for spelling or thinking about grammar or structure. Then i get to use to writing.Learning language specially writing is practical and just theory dose not work.
Another useful exercise i am going to recommend the students is pronunciation. In my opinion if we are able to pronounce a word and recognise it,s phonetic ,the spelling would not be difficult.
Importantly,we are learning academic skills and vocabulary in this course which is one of the my weaknesses.Interestingly, i have problems with the time.I think night and day in university life is less than 24 hours.I would like to study perfectly. But unfortunately time dose not allow me.
To sum up,for improve our English we have to work hard and practice every day also it needs time.

Library resources
For task n.8. I connected into Library service then i searched for one of the core modules' courses: ' Broad band Networks'.
Firstly,I have to say that,i have a small ISP company in my country so I have experience in analogue networks such as modem based and broad band networks or ADSL .But wireless networking is new in my country.
At the beginning networking technology was not so quick and modern. It was cable networking therefor the Internet speed was very sallow.Furthermore in the cable connection it is impossible to shear the telephone line and the Internet in the same time. However, in the ADSL and Wireless even we can share several computers without cable and engaging telephone line.
I find a research article on the Internet after reading that i selected a paragraph then i copied it on the Gap maker web site for finding the academic word.In the bottom you can see the text which is about differences of cable and other access networks. At the end there is a list of academic vocabulary with their definitions.
http://research.microsoft.com/~ssaroiu/publications/imc/2007/imc2007-dischinger.pdf
"There are several important differences between cable and
other access networks. First, cable links typically have asym-
metric bandwidths: their downstream bandwidth is much
higher than their upstream bandwidth. Second, customers
cannot use the full raw capacity of their cable links. Instead,
cable networks use traffic shaping to restrict users from con-
suming more bandwidth than their contract stipulates. Al-
though cable networks currently allow raw data rates of up
to 40 Mbps, the contracts of individual customers specify
much lower rates, between 128 Kbps and 10 Mbps. Further,
some ISPs over-subscribe their cable access networks. In this
case, the level of service experienced by customers can vary
depending on the amount of competing network traffic.
Finally, cable modems can concatenate multiple upstream
packets into a single transmission, which results in short
bursts at high data rates. Thus, the upstream latencies can
fluctuate heavily, depending on the allocation policy, and the
amount of signaling and concatenation used by the CMTS."
Academic vocabulary:
Access: the method or way of approaching a place or person, or the right to use or look at something
Allocation:the act or process of giving out parts of a whole, or a part given out in this way
Contract:agreement, become ill, shorten:to make or become shorter or narrower, or smaller
Fluctuate:to change or vary frequently between one level or thing and another
Transmit:to send or give something
Methodology:a set of methods used in a particular area of study or activity
Protocol:e formal system of rules for correct behavior on official occasions
Validate:to make (something) officially acceptable or approved
Assumption:the act of taking control or claiming authority or an acceptance of something as true without question or proof .

Unbelievable
I watched a documentary film on the BBC for task n.2 .
It is unbelievable in 21st century hearing that every year nearly thousand of British girls age between 13-18 have been taken abroad for being married by force. The film coll 'This World' .A British-Pakistani woman who has born in England was presenter.
To be honest i was impressed by watching it and several times during the film i cried. It shows that how the families are forcing their daughter to being married with their cosion. The majority reasons of this kind of marriage were for getting visa.
There was a big gap of life style between their life in England and Pakistan. Most of them were living in a village with lack of technology. For example a thirteen years girl, who her given name was Tania ,was living i a Small village far from Islamabad without electricity and mobile phone. But after 2 weeks she could coll the British consul in Islamabad and tell them about her address and situation to being rescued and get back to the England.
Interestingly, the family particularly the father loves his daughter but it is a part of his cultural and after that he will be prod of his brother ism.
The British consul team was successful in rescuing three out of four girls in the film also one of the girl was rescued for second times.
To sum up,even though i come from a Asian country ,i could not believe that, in year 2008-9 forcing the teenage girls who, grow up in England, for being married in other countries without their willing.Furthermore I appreciate the British consul in Pakistan and their policy of rescuing,However, it should break privacy of the family.

Seminar reflection 2
Today we experienced second seminars (about Surveillance society).I believe that, i have done better than previous seminar also other students in our group were good.I was able to use specific language.I think everybody participated.Further more we talked about some interesting view of surveillance and new technologies.
For example i gave my opinion about future of the technology.I red a article about new technology last year.It was about a liying detector, invented in the U.S.A .Also i red a theory about invention a machine which would be able to get the frequencies in the environment and broadcast those as a voice and video of the humane who had done an action there.Because every thing which we are doing such as speaking moving or body etc, even our thinking is recording in the environment. This theory is issued by Ostad Elahi(Iranian philosopher, for more details you can go to this address: http://www.ostadelahi.com/ ).
So my opining is that in future we do not need to use CCTV,DNA, and etc, for surveillance purpose because our environment is able to record every things.

Seminar reflection
I really enjoy discussion , particularly about a interesting topic.
Last week i was looking forward to attending in the seminar ,so during the weekend i was working hard for seminar preparation.I find some interesting finding on the Internet you can see those in the previews task which is in the bottom.
Despite being a talkative person ,i tyred to listen to other students, thus i was a good listener during the seminar and i spoke good enough.
Although some students were speaking unclear with a strong accent, i could understand them. But to be honest i did not practice the language of speaking very much ,so i could have done better.
Although some students were trying to be dominated ,I believe that i was successful to direct the discussion and help keep the discussion moving in the right direction because everybody participated and at the end they were satisfied.
I have to practiced the language for next seminar and i hope to do much better.

Seminar research
For seminar preparation this weekend i searched on the Internet for find further information sources about ''television influence on children , how television viewing affects people and the future for television.''
I find many interesting result.
In the following i am going to write a summary of those finding and the links of the websites which i think might be useful for other students.
-A research mentioned that nearly 70% of children aged 8-15 years are watching TV 14 hoers
per week.
-nowadays four out of five children aged 5 till 16 have a TV set in their bedroom.
-children are watching average of 3 until 5 hours television per day.
-studies show that too much television viewing can have adverse affects.such as more violent and aggressive behavior, poor school performance ,early sexual activity, and drudge or alcohol use.
However, children are not engage in the activities ,they need to help them develop their bodies and brains when they watch television.Young children need to ''explore ,move manipulate, smell touch and repeat as they learn.
For older children is it important to play ,read ,do home work ,and talk with other children and adults for healthy development, according to the Department of Education, mention the link address in the following.
-obesity problem: Watching television consumes only a few more calories than sleeping. Children who watch television instead of physical activity are getting fat.
-Between 2008 and 2012, the analogue TV signal will be switched off in the UK, meaning the country will have to be 100% digital.
Digital TV can be sent through an aerial, satellite, cable or phone line, and to watch it you need a set-top box or a built-in decoder in your TV set.
TV could be use on the mobile phone and other gadgets.High definition television, or HDTV, is a new format for watching programmes, offering sharper, clearer and brighter pictures and better sound.More realistic and educational purpose also variety products will be extended on the television.
To sum up in my view i think the media and particularly television and Internet will use for education purpose than entertainment.furthermore, censorship and media tycoon would not exist any more so we will live in the world village.
